I put a book on my bookshelf today. It was called The Book of Nothing.

and that's all.

I would like to read the book of nothing. The
subject of nothing is really about something.
Nothing is actually a subject, it has a name.
There are even examples of nothing. It used to be thought that space devoid of matter or energy was really nothing. Now we know (probably) that empty space has structure and content: namely (maybe) dark energy (Einsteins
famous fudge factor). Doing nothing is
really a profound activity. To be conciously
aware of doing nothing is a significant achievement! I think that it is pretty special. It would really take someone like my daughter to blog about nothing.

Examples of the meaning of nothing:

I am nothing: humility
You are nothing: conceit and judgement
Nothing is important: life happens
Nothing surprises me anymore: life is wierd

Zen is the realization of Nothing.
My Zen teacher always said that he had nothing
to teach us. We all thought he was just giving
us another Koan or secret teaching but he has assured us that he is/was telling the truth. It is only in realizing nothing that your true self can be liberated. Pretty cool, huh.

May you enter into the blessed state of knowing and doing nothing. Being free of judgement frees you from all of the limiting words every spoken about you. You can then stop trying to be something and just do what seems enjoyable. Naturally it will be nothing important.

Love, Dad
